GIVING

We consider giving an act of worship. The apostle Paul, instructed Timothy regarding the churches Timothy was leading, “Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share” (I Tim. 6:18). We know that nothing we have is our own, so we choose to pool our resources and watch God do amazing things with our collective resources that we could not do individually.

1st Corinthians 16:1-2   Paul told the church at Corinth, "Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so you must do also: On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come."Many people also participate in the tithe or the tenth; giving back to God the "first fruits of their increase" (Proverbs 3:9-10).

All the blessings of this life come from God. We can show our love for Him by returning a portion of our income to secure and promote the work of the church here on earth.
